CNC 5-Axis Machining

CNC Jig Grinding
Grinds O.D.’s and I.D.’s of bores, journals, actuators, carrier assemblies, shafts, housings, pistons, as well as single point machining of brake flanges. We provide full-service management of all processes involved with the repair from N.D.T. to plating.

CNC Milling
We have extensive experience milling super aerospace alloys, plastic composites and other unusual or exotic materials. We are geared for most applications whether it be high torque or high RPM. All machines are hardwired to programming stations with Mastercam 3-D. CNC Milling of difficult materials, tolerances, contours, helixes, cams, impellers and vanes are all specialties at Straton Industries.

We are an FAA Repair Station (XTRR859K) performing interference fit installation of liners and bushings. We machine and measure to exacting tolerances

FAA Component Repair
We are a certified Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Repair Station (#XTRR859K / EASA 145.6292) for helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. Located 2 miles from Sikorsky airport in southern CT, our full-service machining facility specializes in O.D./I.D. grinding and managing custom machining chrome and NDT for a wide spectrum of clients.

Large Diameter Turning
Our Vertical Turret Lathes offer up to 78″ diameter swing, on a workpiece up to 120″ in length. We can turn a 22,000 lb workpiece. All our equipment is housed in a clean, temperature-controlled environment to maintain stability.

Straton Industries has over 50 years experience in quality inspection services (QC Inspection, CMM) as well as inspection for our peers. We cater to prototype, short or long run productions. Engineering and design expertise are available. The core of our inspection services is a large team of experienced QC inspectors using the latest inspection equipment.

Welding Fabrication
We have expertise in custom welding and fabrication for prototypes, production runs, welded aluminum boat building, as well as general, industrial, marine, and construction welding. Some of our specialties include close tolerance fabrication of machine frames and bases, structural steel and aluminum weldments, and production welding of supplied parts.
Wire Sinker EDM
We work with a variety of conductive materials including titanium, tantalum, carbide, molybdenum, brass, copper and aluminum. Produce intricate shapes up to 30 degrees of taper and 4-axis capability to add that extra twist to airfoils, vanes and mold electrodes. We can wire cut up to 15″ thick.
